ACT
Mission and Vision:
Education and Health Care for those who need it most
Afghan Care Today (ACT) is a non-profit organization comprised of U.S. Army veterans supported by experts in a variety of fields to include health care, business and international law.
ACT’s mission is to work within a network of NGO’s assisting Afghans in building self-sustaining communities through agriculture, clean water, health care, a balanced education and by providing employment opportunities in rural areas of the country. We accomplish this by capitalizing on strong tribal relationships and working within Afghanistan’s tribal system with those most capable of bringing change to their own communities, which include tribal leaders, elders, government officials and local security forces.
Current Needs:
ACT has teamed with Global Water Partners, which has committed the initial funds necessary to drill numerous water wells that ACT will oversee in remote locations of Afghanistan.
We are currently seeking $75,000 in operational funds to send our team and equipment to Afghanistan in order to implement the water well project.
ACT will initially drill a well for an orphanage of blind Afghan children who must walk over two miles to obtain fresh water.
During this trip we will also provide medical care with the donated medicines and medical supplies that we currently have palletized and ready for shipment from the United States.
